Non-Player Characters

Enki
Also known as Ea, the God of Creation, Intelligence, Crafts, Water, Seawater, Lakewater, Fertility, Semen, Magic, Mischief. Enki is the hero of many myths, helping to create man or fight against monsters or mediate rifts between others. He is also known for being a philanderer—some of his conquests outside his wife being his own daughters. (Not that he knows that, for some reason.) Unlike in other ancient religions, Enki is not the head of the Sumerian pantheon. That is his father, An. However, he is responsible for the creation of man and all of the water sources.

For the sake of this game, Enki and the other gods of his pantheon have been sleeping for millennia. It's only the reemergence of peoples digging in the sands of abandoned temples and cities that have started to stir them from their long slumber. It will be through his power that players are brought to this world, to help him and the scientists for their own purposes.

While he will be the main god that players have contact with (through his High Priest mostly), there are others that will be listed below.

If you'd like more information regarding him, it can be found here.

Ninhursag
Ninhursag is a Mother Goddess, Goddess of Fertility, one of the seven great deities of Sumer and Enki's consort. She is the mother of his first child and the greatest of healers in Sumerian mythology. She assisted in the creation of man by acting as midwife to another goddess. She is also the one to help Uttu trick Enki to bring about the birth of the eight healer goddesses.

If you'd like more information regarding her, it can be found here.

Other Deities
The eight healer goddesses (Abu, Nintulla, Ninsutu, Ninkasi, Nanshe (Nazi), Azimua, Ninti, and Enshag) will be around to help bring dead players back to life. Enlil and Ninlil are closely aligned with Enki and Ninhursag and may show up, but they will not be around for long.

Some other deities and/or monsters of legend may show up as well, but that isn't yet determined.

Dr Amal Khan
Head of the Anthropological Studies Department; together with Dr Smith, he observes the changes in the people brought over by Enki—physical, emotional and mental. As an anthropologist, he's actually more in observing them in their environment and less for interacting with them on a one-on-one basis.

He generally doesn't leave the clinical sterility of his lab, but he has been known to send out questionnaires from time to time.

Dr Patricia Smith
Head of the Biological Changes Department; together with Dr Khan, they observe the changes in the people brought over by Enki—physical, emotional, and mental. As a biologist, she's very interested in seeing how the physical changes affects their physiologies. She will run many tests, but on select groups.

She is often described as cold and clinical, but her main goal is to make everything easier for those undergoing the experiment.

Simmumah
This is not his name but his title. Enki's Head Priest will be the point of contact for players to reach the deities, since they don't spend all of their time in the cities. He will also confer with the priests and priestesses of the other gods on behalf of the players.

He will usually be available at Enki's temple in the center of the city. Unless there is a major celebration going on. Then, he will be in the middle of it, leading the festivities.

** Just remember that he is human. And that any attacks on him will lead to repercussions from Enki himself. **
